Who says pumpkins are only made for carving?
Halloween floristry does not have to mean bright orange flowers, plastic spiders and cobwebs everywhere. Although, of course, there is always room for a little drama!
Pumpkins make fabulous seasonal containers for garden roses, giving florists and floral designers a fun way to create autumn arrangements for weddings, events, shop displays and dinner tables.

Alina Neacsa is a hugely talented floral designer with a real love for garden roses. In fact, she loves them so much that now two roses now carry her name!
For example, in this striking arrangement, Alina used fragrant White O’Hara garden roses with blue and white flowers inside a pumpkin painted with a Dolce & Gabbana-inspired design. The combination of soft ivory roses and vivid blue details is completely unexpected and absolutely beautiful.
More importantly, it proves that pumpkin arrangements don't have to be orange, rustic or particularly spooky. With a little paint and a strong colour palette, a pumpkin can become a rather fabulous vase.
Create Your Own Halloween Style
Pumpkin vase arrangements can be soft and romantic, wild and rustic or dark and dramatic. They make beautiful autumn wedding centrepieces, seasonal shop displays, restaurant flowers or luxury gifts.
Orange and black may be traditional, but florists do not have to follow the rules. Try blush roses in a white pumpkin, or antique pinks and golden tones with green and natural pumpkins.
Pumpkins, twigs and garden roses may sound like an unusual combination, but together they create something playful, seasonal and surprisingly elegant.
