The Soul
of Japanese Roses
BY WABARA
Roses crafted with sensitivity, care and a reverence for natural elegance.
WABARA began as a personal passion for breeder Keiji Kunieda, who dedicated his life to creating roses with softness and emotional expression at their core. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and traditional garden forms, he worked to develop roses that felt gentle and alive. After many years of refinement, WABARA was officially established in 2003, offering varieties that celebrate individuality, subtle beauty and the charm of natural movement.
Rather than pursuing rigid uniformity, WABARA seeks roses that breathe and evolve. Their varieties often reveal gentle curves, soft irregularities and organic shapes. These qualities are embraced as part of each rose’s personality, honouring the belief that emotion is more important than perfection and that beauty often lies in subtlety.
Once a variety is created, it is shared with selected farms who cultivate WABARA roses with the same care and intention. This collaboration allows each bloom to grow in enriched soils and thoughtful environments that support resilience and authenticity. The roses are handled gently and harvested at the moment they reveal their truest character.
WABARA roses are loved for their distinctive presence. Their petals feel soft and sincere, their colours thoughtful and calming. They bring a sense of quiet comfort and gentle joy wherever they are placed. More than flowers, they are an invitation to pause, breathe and feel.
