From Friday, January 15th 2016, florists, exporters and other interested parties can get to know the authentic scented roses from Damasque during the 81st edition of the International Green Week in Berlin. The official launch of this new consumer brand for cut flowers follows later this spring.
Damasque roses in the Holland Pavilion ‘Urban Oasis’
Initiator for the use of Damasque roses is florist Bart Bresser. Together with Nico Wissing of NL Green Label he will decorate a part of the Ecodome with authentic scented Damasque roses. The Ecodome is part of the Urban Oasis, the name of the 250 square meter Holland Pavilion of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Nico Wissing is the designer of the Holland pavilion.
The Green Week will take place from 15th until January 24th, 2016 in Berlin. It is the world’s largest exhibition for agriculture, horticulture and food with more than 450,000 visitors. In Hall 18 at Messe Berlin, the visitors of the Urban Oasis get an impression of the Netherlands as a sustainable urban delta with many qualities. The Urban Oasis will demonstrate that although space is scarce it is still possible to use it also for vegetation, biodiversity and sustainability.
Sustainable Damasque roses
The Damasque roses fit within the theme of sustainability and ecology. The traditionally cultivated roses are more than just fair trade. Damasque intends to maximize sustainability in areas such as the environment, local communities, human resources, water and energy. From the nursery up to the consumer.
Damasque roses are only available through an exclusive network of ambassador florists. At present, flower shops can request exclusivity in their region through the temporary website www.damasque.com. Soon the consumer version of the website will go live.
